How Maya is Using Goalarama to Shine Brighter
Maya is 36. She’s doing okay—by most people’s standards. A decent job, a few good friends, a flat that feels (mostly) like home. But lately, she's been feeling… scattered. Like parts of her life are moving forward, but others are stuck. Some dreams are quietly fading in the background. And that doesn’t sit right with her.
So Maya made a decision—not to overhaul her life overnight, but to tune in, take stock, and make intentional changes across every part of her world.
With Goalarama, she began setting small, thoughtful goals—not just in one area, but across all the different parts of her life that matter.
Here’s what that looked like:
Career
Intention: To feel more confident and visible at work. Goals:
Weekly Habit: Speak up at least once in every team meeting.
Skills Goal: Complete a short course on presenting with clarity and confidence.
Yes/No Goal: Did I prepare before today’s meeting?
Maya enjoys her work, but she often feels invisible in meetings. Her goals aren’t about chasing a promotion (yet)—they’re about growing her voice and presence in the room.
Family
Intention: To reconnect with her roots and nurture meaningful conversations. Safe chats about the weather and the route she took to visit is, well, safe.
Goals:
Monthly Milestone: Plan a proper call or visit with her parents and brother.
Yes/No Goal: Did I send a message to someone in my family today?
She realised that while her family wasn’t physically close, connection could still be intentional. A proper chat—unrushed and real—matters more than daily small talk.
Love & Romance
Intention: To be open to love again, without pressure or panic. Goals:
Behaviour Goal: Say yes to social invitations where connection is possible.
Identity Goal: “I am someone who believes love can find me again.”
Yes/No Goal: Did I do something today that made me feel emotionally open?
After a long breakup, Maya had guarded herself. But these gentle goals let her re-enter the world of connection on her own terms.
Health
Intention: To feel strong, rested, and in tune with her body. Goals:
Tally Goal: Complete 30 walks this quarter.
Daily Habit: Stretch for five minutes in the morning.
Yes/No Goal: Did I prioritise rest today?
Instead of punishing workouts, Maya focused on goals that felt kind—inviting joy, rhythm, and energy back into her body.
Financial
Intention: To feel more in control and at peace with her money.Goals:
Milestone Goal: Build a 3-month emergency fund.
Yes/No Goal: Did I check my balance today without avoiding it?
Monthly Habit: Review all spending and note one small win.
Money used to be a source of shame. Now it’s becoming a place of confidence—one small choice at a time.
Spirituality
Intention: To feel connected, grounded, and in conversation with herself. Goals:
Weekly Habit: Journal three times a week.
Freeform Goal: Read or listen to something that inspires awe or reflection.
Identity Goal: “I am someone who listens inward before reacting outward.”
This isn’t about religion or rules—it’s about making space to breathe, reflect, and come home to herself.
Friends
Intention: To nurture deeper connections, not just digital ones.Goals:
Weekly Habit: Reach out and initiate one meaningful connection.
Behaviour Goal: Celebrate a friend’s success out loud.
Tally Goal: 12 in-person meetups this season.
Maya realised her friendships had become more passive than present. These goals help her rebuild her social life with more soul.
Community
Intention: To feel like she belongs somewhere beyond her inbox.Goals:
Milestone Goal: Attend three local events this quarter.
Yes/No Goal: Did I do one thing today that connected me to my neighbourhood?
Freeform Goal: “Be part of something bigger than me.”
Joining a local garden group gave Maya unexpected joy—and reminded her that community doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.
Not a Makeover—A Tune-Up
What Maya loves about Goalarama is that it lets her hold space for all parts of her life. Not in a perfectionist way, but in a kind, curious, human way. She doesn’t have it all figured out—but she’s no longer sleepwalking through her own story. Her discoball is starting to turn again—each facet catching a little more light.
Your Life, Your Season
Whether you’re like Maya—reflecting in your mid-30s—or simply starting to notice the gap between how life feels and how you want it to feel, Goalarama offers a space to move forward with heart.
